Camping in East Devon

Forest Edge offers spacious grass camping pitches for tents in the East Devon countryside. Our pitches are generously sized, with plenty of room to settle in and enjoy proper off-grid camping near Sidmouth, Ottery St Mary and Honiton. We do not accept caravans, campervans or motorhomes.
Yes. You can choose your pitch using our interactive campsite map when booking. The central pitches are generally the flattest, while some pitches closer to the woodland have a gentle slope.
Online bookings allow up to six people per camping pitch. Our pitches are large, so if your group is slightly bigger, give us a call and we may be able to arrange this for you.
No. Forest Edge offers a relaxed off-grid camping experience and our grass pitches don't have electric hook-up. Drinking water points, Wi-Fi, showers, toilets and washing-up facilities are available on site.
Yes. Dogs are welcome on our camping pitches and in our bell tents. We generally allow one dog per booking and ask that dogs are kept on a lead while around the campsite. Dogs are not permitted in our luxury glamping pods.
Absolutely. Groups can book neighbouring pitches together, subject to availability. Larger celebrations, stag or hen groups are considered when the whole site is booked exclusively. Contact us before booking a large group and we'll help arrange the best setup.

Our Bell Tents

Our five furnished bell tents give you the atmosphere of camping without having to bring your own tent. Each sleeps up to four and includes proper beds, bed linen, furnishings and cosy interiors. There is no electricity inside the tents. Guests should bring their own towels.
Bell tent guests use the campsite's shared shower and toilet facilities. We have six hot showers, separate men's and women's facilities, drinking water and a washing-up area.
Yes. Bell tent and camping guests can add a private wood-fired hot tub for £70 per night, subject to availability. We'll prepare and pre-heat your hot tub ready for your arrival.
Our bell tents normally have a two-night minimum stay, giving you enough time to properly settle in and enjoy Forest Edge.

Stargazer and Aurora sleep two guests and are ideal for couples. Zenith and Eclipse sleep up to four guests, making them ideal for couples wanting more space, families and small groups.
Our luxury pods are fully equipped for a comfortable countryside stay, with private shower rooms, kitchen facilities, bedding and towels provided. Each also has its own outdoor space and private wood-fired hot tub.

Hot Tubs, Fires & BBQs

Our tubs are fresh-water, wood-fired hot tubs. They're emptied, cleaned and refilled after each stay and don't rely on chemical-treated water. We pre-heat your tub for arrival and send you a simple guide explaining how to maintain the temperature. Logs are provided throughout your stay.
No — we pre-heat it for you. If you're staying several nights and allow the fire to go out, reheating an already warm tub usually takes around 40 minutes. We'll provide the logs and instructions you need.
BBQs are generally welcome when conditions allow. Personal fire pits aren't permitted, but Forest Edge fire pits can be hired. During particularly hot or dry weather we may temporarily restrict BBQs and fires for everyone's safety, so please follow the current site guidance during your stay.

Facilities & Families

Our campsite facilities include six hot showers, separate men's and women's toilets, drinking water points, a washing-up area, Wi-Fi and waste and recycling facilities. There isn't currently a communal fridge/freezer, laundry or charging station.
